Nigel needs to act quick and get O'grady in. I'm told he missed out on Madine who opted for Coventry.

I am not a big fan of O'Grady because he was an owls player but he did show the aggression of a half decent forward so he might be ok at the blades.

2.) Forwards can only influence a game if they are on the pitch! NC keeps playing a midfielder alone up front and the forwards on the bench. Unless this changes, it's pointless buying another forward.

3.) 17 Nov 2014 20:01:04
Because he was an Owls player? That's never stopped us before mate we sign their ex players quite often. They don't sign ours though.

4.) 18 Nov 2014 09:08:02
I agree tony, they don't sign ours because they can't afford em.

5.) 18 Nov 2014 17:30:25
I'm not sure that's the case blade49. We only sign there's when they've done with them. It's always there cast offs. I just don't feel they want ex blades. Just another thing, have you also noticed they never have a red away kit but we will have a blue one? Just an observation.

6.) 19 Nov 2014 07:22:43
I never noticed that tony. It looks like the owls are a very insecure club. Does it matter what colour shirt you wear as long as your winning. Sad owls.

7.) 20 Nov 2014 07:15:33
Or is it simply just to distance themselves from us as much as possible in the same way that Liverpool don't employ ex Everton players or wear blue away strips and the two Manchester clubs very rarely do business together. Rangers and Celtic don't deal with each others ex players either and nor do the Bristol clubs. Just an observation.

{Ed001's Note - Liverpool have had a number of strips with a very large amount of blue on them, though the most recent example, which had a very small amount of blue, didn't go down well with the fans. They have also employed ex-Everton players, and signed a few from there.}

8.) 20 Nov 2014 08:03:52
Thanks Ed. Well tony we have been put in our place re the kit colour. Anyway it was a nice little debate between two fans so wots next. How about who the next striker is going to be. I reckon Higdon will eventually do what's necessary to get the blades to where they should be so another striker on loan from anywhere will probably upset the system. Also got to try the younger strikers we have got more often. What do you think or anyone else.

{Ed001's Note - you are welcome mate.}

9.) 20 Nov 2014 17:46:35
To be honest I'm not sure Nigel knows his best strike force. I sometimes wonder how we would get on if we was to go out and get one of those goal scorers that's been in and around the lower leagues for loads of clubs and scored loads of goals. The ones that have been doing it for years but never been given a chance at a big club. Someone in the Jamie Cureton mold. Does nothing all the game but pops up with a goal.

10.) 20 Nov 2014 20:30:37
You mean another Keith Edwards. There must be someone in the lower leagues who is playing for a move to a league club.

11.) 20 Nov 2014 20:34:30
New news. Ched Evans has been refused to train with the blades.

12.) 23 Nov 2014 19:57:32
I posted it on Friday and the next day Jamie Cureton pops up with another goal. Loads of players like him out there. We should maybe take a risk on one.

Looks like Cogs coming. Our club obviously loves an ex Owl. We've signed so many over recent years. There policy is not to bye from us or sign any of our ex players. Maybe we should do the same.

Why shouldn't we buy ex Wednesday players? Your wrong regarding them not getting ex blades players - They tried their hardest to get Sharp. I think you'll find that a lot of ex Wednesday players have done well for the Blades. Both Quinn's, Bromby, Geary, Bradshaw. And before people start about ex Leeds players, Bobby Davison was a cult hero at the Lane too. My point is, does it REALLY matter where a player comes from?? If they do a good job, who really cares?

2.) 07 Jul 2014 18:17:53
I'm friends with chris played with him at leicester city and also digged with him , I con confirm 100% he isn't coming , he is Barnsley number 9 and will play week in week out and he loves it there the fans took to him ,

Load of tosh this rumour I can 100% put it to bed

3.) Someone with a nickname Pepe le pew that played for Leicester City. Hmmmm.

4.) Pepe obviously you need to read the news. when a club invite offers for a player it usually means your time is up. COG may not end up at SUFC but he will be leaving Barnsley.

5.) 10 Jul 2014 00:48:26
hope that sam winnall signs for the blade because he is a proven goalscorer

Come on let's be honest. Cloughs signings have been shocking. He's known for it just ask any Derby fan. He came in last season and the players were up for it as Weir had been outed. Now cloughs got his feet under the table we are now seeing the real Clough. He wasn't sacked by Derby for being a good manager and at the end of the day he's a league one manager not a Prem or championship one.

TonyKenworthysBrokenToe

1.) A little bit too critical aren't you tony and taking too much notice of a derby fan. his signings have not been shocking because they will come good especially when he gets his proper first pick 11. unbeaten in 3 and again put out a prem side in cup.

2.) I notice that MCLaren didn't make many changes to the side that Clough brought in, so much for shocking signings eh mate.

3.) 01 Sep 2014 23:35:04
Turner looks good experienced back-up, Alcock easily our best player so far this season, Mcgahey is young so is going to make the odd mistake like Maguire did but looks promising, McEveley looks experienced and solid, Basham looks a good leader who admittedly had a poor start but now looks solid, Wallace is injured so can't comment, Campbell-Ryce looks pacey and skill full with a good ball into the box, McNulty looks a nuisance who looks promising and Higdon isn't fit yet so can't comment. Which of these are the 'shocking' signings you're talking about? Cloughs built a lot stronger squad than we had last year which will prove vital in 6 months time.

4.) 02 Sep 2014 07:10:31
you are right derby blade, team will get better and harder to beat over the coming months, hoping to be in top 3 by christmas.

O'grady and Madine being considered for permanent moves to United. Matt Done is wanted by Rotherham, Wigan and Bristol City with the latter wanting him to replace Matt Smith who's heading back to Oldham. Steve Davies is still a possibility but Lee Clark now wants to keep him for a more direct and combative style next season in the hope of getting promotion back to the championship following there inevitable relegation to league 1.

Does anyone know how many united fans went to Rochdale last night?

Couldn't agree more mate about needing a striker. We Failed to get O'grady back on deadline day and more information has surfaced that we tried to bring in Leon Clark from Wolves who declined the move as did Gary Madine on loan. In my view we should have tried our luck at getting Stevie May in on loan or possibly even Colan Lavery.

We are back in for O'grady yes but I'm also hearing we're in for Rhys McCabe from Wednesday too. He played in an under 21 game recently for Birmingham but Clough has now made a move for him.

It really looks like we are in first place to sign Eoin Doyle. Apparently his agent has spoke of several championship clubs that have shown an interest in him but fears moving up in leagues wold jeopardise Doyles progress as first team football wouldn't be guaranteed leaving the door open for us and maybe one or two more clubs in league 1.
