Looks a cracking striker be decent if it comes off

19 Jan 2015 06:59:00
Let's hope he's better than the last striker we got from the dutch league

Quality over quantity Cloughy. What is it to date, 16 players? All we seem to be is an average div 3 side. The quality should've arrived pre-season, not now when it's too late

19 Jan 2015 10:32:57
We won't get him, we won't spend the money on him. They want €300k which is roughly £230k can't see us spending that!

21 Jan 2015 09:57:44
Sheffield united are set to sign cardiff city right back john brayford while cardiff set to bring in huddesfield right back lee peltier to replace john brayford. (source sky sports news transfer centre)

18 Jan 2015 13:48:46
We're looking into signing Dutch striker Kevin Van Been from Dutch 2nd division side Fc Oss, He's scored 14 in 18 games so far. Stumbling block is they want €300k

18 Jan 2015 19:33:20
So we r going to offer 30,000.

19 Jan 2015 07:44:56
Your probably right there Scottish blade we are doing all the groundwork on players then losing them to other clubs because we're messing around with measly offers instead of getting it wrapped up asap

19 Jan 2015 16:20:58
Sounds like he's got a similar record to Higdon then but in the league below - must be pretty special.

15 Jan 2015 15:25:39
We've just bid for Doyle from chesterfield

Agree7 Disagree13

Yeah but the question is how much?

£80K? £800K?

It's ok putting bids in but they ahve to be realistic. Our recent record in transfer windows isn't exactly sparkling now is it?

Gas, were has this come from, there's normally something in the press about bids but I've not seen anything? Also, personally I think Doyles a bit of a knee jerk signing, I'd never heard of him until now, yes he's having a good season but can he maintain that (and would our style suit him, look at Billy Sharp)?

16 Jan 2015 07:21:30
Doyle would definitely suit our style of play.
Doubt Paul Cook would want to lose him though so the offer would have to be a massive one I'm guessing. Doesn't seem like Doyle is eager to move though.

It came from the same person who told me Carlisle were after porter before he turned them down.

15 Jan 2015 06:49:54
We've made an improved offer for Brayford as initial offer turned down. also offers for Keiran Freeman and Paul Coutts ongoing both from Derby. I hope we get Mackay Steven as he looks like a decent winger with plenty of pace about him and if Celtic have joined Chase it shows his potential.

14 Jan 2015 21:56:56
Chris O Grady is set to return to Sheffield United on a permenant basis

Agree13 Disagree6

Not a fan of o'grady he's not exactly set the world alight an he's injury prone. So not sure why we are relentlessly pursuing him. Paddy Madden from Scunthorpe a better option in my opinion but personally I think we should stick with Mcnulty an give Adams and de girolomo more first team experience.

Totally agree, Adams needs to go on loan to get some experience,Diego needs a chance and we should have gone for madden when he left Yeovil

14 Jan 2015 20:55:35
So, word is Spurs have agreed a £4m deal with Swansea for Kyle Naughton, anyone know if we've been smart for a change and included a sell on clause or is it just another missed opportunity? Any fee we get could possibly help in our pursuit for our own targets.

Agree2 Disagree0

15 Jan 2015 13:20:49
If I remember right we had a sell on clause from reading reports at time. However guy at work seems to think we have taken a settlement already from them!!!

{Ed001's Note - you get a solidarity payment anyway under UEFA rules. I believe there is a 5% payment that is split between clubs that developed a player at youth level. I might have the %age wrong as it is just off the top of my head, but I think it is 5.}

If that's the case then we should get 200k at least

13 Jan 2015 09:11:30
I attended a Supporters Club Dinner last night and was told by one of the board that attended that Nigel couldn't attend as he was on the road looking at players. I find it a little coincidental that Dundee and Mackay-Stevens played last night. He scored as well !!

Agree4 Disagree1

You didn't need a board member to tell you that! The Hamilton twitter page was tweeting that Nigel was watching their game against Dundee. He was also shown on camera as being in the stand at their game.

Makes no difference, we are too tight and aren't capable of bidding enough cash to land the player

We've had a second bid rejected for him according to tv

Its all well and good saying we are to tight but bidding is a process you don't just bid a stupid amount. You work your way up and try to pay the least amount possible.

Agree with Whitwell. I think we should chuck porter in with a bit of cash.

Stupid amount? That’s the problem Whitwell Blade, we did bid a stupid amount

13 Jan 2015 19:02:48
They only want 250k
We will end up losing out

Why is NC looking to buy yet another striker when he rarely plays those he has, and plans to send the goalscoring diamond we have (Diego) away on loan repeatedly instead of giving him a run in the side? NC recently saw him bag a hat-trick in the reserves, then said he wants him to sign a new contract, then he'll send him away again. Crazy!

Mackay isn't a striker mate, plays out wide, a winger and allegedly a good one. Dundee rate him at £2million but then again I suppose they would. Due to him nearly being out of contract he has to be worth a gamble at maybe a couple of hundred K, but instead we offer 80k and that was the second bid, god knows what the first bid was. Pathetic really.

I think if we do get Mackay- Stevens it will allow him to push Murphy up front because he feels he is more a striker than a winger. Porter is almost definitely going and i wouldn't be surprised if Higdon departs as well.

I think we should sell porter and collins because there both not getting played

12 Jan 2015 18:13:45
Been told Carlisle are looking to sign Porter.

12 jan 2015 20:49:07
please be true!!!

12 Jan 2015 13:44:45
Been told that chris porter is off to dundee
1 of the young lads at work is mates with conner diamio how true the rumour is i font know but the last 3 things he has told us all been right. After all it is just a rumours site i'm not 1 to make things up

If Jimmy Ryan signs an extension at Chesterfield then, Clough will go in for John McGinn or 23 yr old Jack Payne who has been making his lower league name at Gillingham and then Peterbrough. And to solve the issues he faces in attack he is lining up a move for Cody McDonald, Jay Simpson and or Karim Rossi on loan from Hull.

10 Jan 2015 08:00:49
It really looks like we are in first place to sign Eoin Doyle. Apparently his agent has spoke of several championship clubs that have shown an interest in him but fears moving up in leagues wold jeopardise Doyles progress as first team football wouldn't be guaranteed leaving the door open for us and maybe one or two more clubs in league 1.

07 Jan 2015 23:52:24
Nigel Clough wants to bring John Brayford back to sheffield United on a permenant basis

I want all six numbers on the lotto this week

07 Jan 2015 11:43:44
We're interested in John Mcginn again

Agree6 Disagree6

07 Jan 2015 07:36:25
We've made an enquiry for in form Dundee United winger Gary MacKay Steven don't know much about him but if we carry on the way were going we'll ave to start wearing kilts down at the lane😁

Agree10 Disagree0

Looks good @ that level (probably better than Murphy appeared @ Motherwell)
WBA & Swansea said to be interested don't think we'll be able to compete with either - even 'afore they flog Berahino / Bony

{Ed001's Note - I was trying to think where I knew the name from, he was at Liverpool for a while as a youngster. Seemed a nice kid, but was totally out of his depth at the time. Had real quality though at times, a really good touch.}

06 Jan 2015 20:30:51
Us and Wolves interested in signing forward Sean Maguire from West ham. his contract is up middle of Jan15 apparently reports say he has the silkiness equivalent to Messi, can't see it somehow but as long as he knows were the net is then sign him. Utb

Agree3 Disagree0

Not pulled up any trees (on loan) @ Accrington

06 Jan 2015 20:19:20
Us and Wolves are looking at getting the services of Forward Sean Maguire from West Ham

06 Jan 2015 16:27:51
Tom Bradshaw from Walsall a target for the Blades scored 14+ goals already this season

Agree9 Disagree2

This rumour i believe is achievable Bradshaw hasn't hit the headlines like Doyle and no offence to Walsall given a decent offer i don't think they can refuse.

1 of the 14 being against us !

06 Jan 2015 12:32:01
Eoin Doyle to come in from Chesterfield. Micheal Higdon to go the opposite way with United paying his wages. No upfront fee as of yet.

Agree7 Disagree6

Really hope you're right but i believe Chesterfield may have better offers on the table. But if Eoin Doyle does come from Chesterfield would love to see him up front alongside McNulty

Cardiff and derby are also Interested in eoin doyle as well as Sheffield United are so it would be hard to lure him to Bramall Lane

06 Jan 2015 08:40:36
Heard we are after Shrewsbury centre-back Nathaniel Knight-Percival, john Brayford and nicky Maynard

Ched Evans to sign for Oldham Athletic. A lot of people on here left with egg on their face after branding my info as 'rubbish'. Thanks.
